Windows Ce 6.0 Download Wm8505 Firmware: What You Need to Know Before Updating

I purchased a used sylvania netbook windows ce and it did not have icons at all. I visited the digitalgadgets.com website and downloaded the OS update to a SD card. then, unzipped it to the root file on netbook. At first, it did not show any icons still. But I later found the files within windows explorer. However, the next day after turning back on the netbook. The icons appeared. Apparently, it just needed to shutdown after installation of OS update.
